A 28 year old Sheboygan man was charged with three counts of Forgery, facing 18 years in prison. His brother and uncle were also charged after passing fraudulent checks at a local bank. The prosecution claimed our client was responsible as well, since he was kind enough to provide his relatives a ride to the bank, and also due to the fact his uncle implicated him when confronted by a detective. Attorney Brett T. Kaehne filed other acts motions with extensive exhibits solidifying the brother had a series of untruthful conduct, and fraudulent financial transactions. After 6 months of battle, and just prior to jury trial, the prosecution had no choice but to concede they "could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt." Our client tearfully walked out of court with all charges dismissed.
